A: URL encoding converts characters into a format that can be transmitted over the internet by replacing unsafe ASCII characters with a '%' followed by two hexadecimal digits. For example, a space becomes %20. Q: When should I encode URLs? A: Encode URLs when passing parameters with special characters, spaces, or non-ASCII characters to ensure proper transmission and interpretation by web servers. This is essential for API calls, form submissions, and redirects. Q: What's the difference between encoding and decoding? A: Encoding converts readable text into percent-encoded format (hello world → hello%20world). Decoding does the opposite, converting percent-encoded text back to readable format (hello%20world → hello world). Q: Can I process multiple URLs at once? A: Yes! Pro users can upload a CSV file with up to 1,000 URLs for batch processing. Free users can process up to 25 URLs per batch. Q: Are there any character limitations? A: The tool handles standard ASCII and Unicode characters. Very large inputs (over 100KB) may take longer to process. Q: Is my data stored? A: Pro users with history enabled can access past conversions. Free users' data is not stored permanently. All processing happens securely on our servers. Examples Example 1: Encoding a URL with spaces Input: https://example.com/?q=hello world&name=John Doe Mode: Encode
Output: https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2F%3Fq%3Dhello+world%26name%3DJohn+DoeExample 2: Decoding a percent-encoded URL
Input: https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2Fpath%3Fparam%3Dvalue%20here Mode: Decode Output: https://example.com/path?param=value hereExample 3: Encoding special characters
Input: search?q=coffee & tea Mode: Encode Output: search%3Fq%3Dcoffee+%26+tea CSV Format for Bulk Processing Your CSV file should have the following structure: csvurl_input,mode https://example.com/?q=hello world, encode https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com,decode search?param=value, encode Column descriptions:url_input: The URL or text to process mode: Either "encode" or "decode"
Download CSV Template Troubleshooting "Daily limit reached" error Free users have a daily limit. Sign in or upgrade to Pro for unlimited conversions. "Invalid mode" error Ensure the mode field is set to either "encode" or "decode" (lowercase). CSV upload fails Check that your CSV has the correct headers (url_input, mode) and is properly formatted. Use the template as a reference. Results look incorrect Make sure you've selected the correct mode. If you encode an already-encoded URL, it will be double-encoded. Bulk processing stops For very large batches, ensure your file doesn't exceed the row limit for your tier (25 for free, 1,000 for Pro). Support Need help?
